Problem Solving Technique 2: Brainstorming

The brainstorming process typically begins with the definition of a clear problem or question. All participants are encouraged to express their ideas spontaneously and without restriction. The rule is that every idea is welcome and no criticism may be expressed. This creates an open and positive atmosphere in which creative and unusual solutions can emerge. A moderator chairs the session and ensures that the ideas are recorded and made visible to everyone, often on a whiteboard or flip chart.

Advantages of brainstorming

How does brainstorming work?

At our company, we use brainstorming either in meetings in the office or online with Miro to work together as a team. These tools and platforms support the process and enable us to work together effectively even over long distances. The brainstorming session is followed by an evaluation of the collected ideas. In this phase, the ideas are sorted, evaluated and further developed. The most promising approaches are worked out in more detail and checked for feasibility. This process ensures that the best ideas are not only generated but can also be implemented in a concrete way.

Brainstorming is an indispensable method for fostering creativity and innovation in teams. It creates a space in which many ideas can be generated in a short period of time and supports collaborative problem-solving. By encouraging collaboration and free thinking, brainstorming is essential to developing effective and innovative solutions that ensure a company's long-term success.
